Yellow Medicine East Middle/High School
Welcome to Yellow Medicine East Middle School, home of the Sting!
Our Commitment at YME is to provide a safe, positive and intellectual learning
environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and inspired learners. Today’s generation of learners need to participate in activities that challenge and engage them, that help them develop important life skills, and prepare them for high school, college and life in the twenty-first century. We offer small class sizes and a large number of exploratory classes. We also offer a full menu of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
Fall of 2014, YME implemented “Ramp Up For Readiness,” a school-wide advisory program that features an engaging and interactive series of activities designed to help all students graduate from high school ready for post-secondary success. The “Ramp Up” outcomes are focused on the five pillars of readiness: academic, admissions, career, financial, personal & social readiness. “Ramp Up” helps students advance toward meeting those pillars as they progress through school. We believe students cannot be too prepared for their post high school transition, so we start focusing as early as the sixth grade. We, at YME, are passionate about education and want nothing more than to engage children in developing the knowledge and skills they need to be successful adults.
