It's so much fun when something you try turns out way better than expected! The Granite Theater Holiday Mall at 709 Prentice St is chock full of vendors and we're running out of room. The building will continue as a holiday vendor mall until January 1.
With the Christmas Mall as inspiration, building owner, Melissa Syring and the chamber director, Mary Gillespie will continue the mall idea permanently in this classic art deco style building that used to be the Granite Theater. It will be a "retail incubator" with financial support from the Granite Falls EDA and mentoring and marketing help for potential new business owners available.
This is a great opportunity for people who want to start their own shop and still keep their job as they grow their business. Permanent space will be available for rent January 1 at a rate of $200 monthly with only a 30 day notice rental agreement. Shop owners will be required to work one day or evening per week. There will be someone at the front desk that will sell all the merchandise so the mall can be open 6 or 7 days per week plus at least one evening. The chamber hopes this will help start the idea of retail evening openings in Granite Falls so that locals that work until 5:30 have time to shop after work. If you want more information, contact the chamber office at 320-564-4039.
The holiday mall is open Thursday afternoon 4-7, Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 11-3. Hours may be extended in December. It's another reason to shop Granite Falls this holiday season!
