So you think the holidays are over with nothing else to look forward to until spring?  No, not in Granite Falls!  Ole and Lena Days starts in a few weeks!  The week of fun in the middle of winter starts on January 30 with the Midwinter Community Celebration at Bootlegger's Supper Club.  This year, we're trying something new with the table centerpieces.  Chamber members will be able to create a centerpiece promoting their business and a prize will go to the best display.  First choice of tables will go to the event sponsors which so far are Almich's Market, City of Granite Falls, Exit Scenic Valley Realty, Granite Falls Bank, Granite Falls Energy, Project Turnabout, Citizen's Alliance Bank and West Central Sanitation. Thanks to all these sponsors!  We are also looking for silent auction items.  If you would like to create a centerpiece, become a sponsor or donate a silent auction item call or e-mail the chamber office.  320-564-4039, gfchamber@mvtvwireless.com.  This is an important fundraiser for the chamber as well as a great time to get the community together.
Clues for the hidden Ole and Lena Medallions come out starting February 1.  Join in the hunt and you could win $100 in chamber bucks!  Watch for Ole and Lena roaming around town all week.  Enjoy a Scandinavian Feast at Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort on February 4, 4-9 PM.  Bootlegger’s Beer Tasting event is Feb 5 at 7:30 PM.  At 8:30, Feb. 5 enjoy John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party at Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort.  February 6 begins with the Kiwanis Pancake breakfast at Minnesota West along with the Craft Sale at the same location from 8-12.  Also on February 6, "Love your Lefse" tasting in local retail shops from 10-12 AM.  At 1 PM, the Lion’s Buck Tournament starts at Bootlegger’s Supper Club.  At 7 PM, enjoy Tim Patrick and the Blue Eyes Band at the YME auditorium.  Tickets are on sale at the Granite Area Arts Council or at the door for $15 adults, $6 students. The week of fun ends on February 6 with the Firemen’s Dance at 9 PM featuring The Plott Hounds.
